Lived w our gsp in rainy western Oregon. For the last two years we have lived in very dry eastern Washington. It really seems like Dakota has virtually stopped shedding. We used to vacuum up a lot of hair off the carpet. When wrestling with the kids we would come up white hairs all over. On the hard surfaces we would sweep up piles of hair. Now there is very little! I still get hair on my clothes if I cuddle up on the couch but around the house there just isn't much hair!
Her diet is exactly the same. She has always been an inside dog. Only differences I can think of is the dry climate and a few less baths. Since she doesn't get muddy there is less of a need to bathe her.
Anybody else notice this happen? What could cause it?
We certainly aren't complaining! We got rid of muddy paws and shedding hair all while moving closer to wild birds to hunt! A win win win
