Dog playing with dead bird help

Alright guys need some help again. I have a 16 months dog. He has been through ff and have done really good this hunting season. But the last few days of training this past week with dead bird he's starting to play with the birds on he retrieve and chrunching down on the bird. He has never done this til this past week. During his ff we went through with frozen and thaw birds and his retrieve has been great on pheasant and duck during this hunting season. Any advice would help. I was thinking of going back into the ff and retrieve manners again would this be something for me to do again?

His recall is too slow. If he came directly to you when he called, he wouldn't have time to munch or play with the bird. When he slows down, tickle him with the collar and command HERE!!!!
