Quail in So. Cal

I heard a rooster valley quail advertising that he is available to mate today. Jan 26 is very early for pairing up but the conditions here are beautiful. Lots of new greens. Then maybe he is just a horny male with high hopes. I am on the upper desert and there is lots of time for hard winter temps. I hope this rooster knows what he is doing. We need a good hatch year.
