Awesome Painting

My wife surprised me with this painting for my birthday. I had always wanted a painting from this artist. Her name is Angela Delaplane with Infinite Planes. This was her first painting of bird dogs but I don't think it will be her last! She had a good time painting the dogs and was happy to learn more about them.

The painting is on wood that she stained and then painted on. Almost like a pallet. The wood became her canvas. She nailed the scenery as it was taken from a picture taken early in the season on wild birds in the palmetto and pine flats. Even the little yellow flowers that are there early in the season. She totally captured the dogs as they were that day. This was the second find that Blaze (pointer) had ever had. He was just learning and I can see it in his posture. He now has more intensity and a higher tail. The more I look at this painting the more like it!
