pigeon question

Post by ibbowhunting » Fri Jun 12, 2015 5:14 pm

when or how do you tell when a young birds are no longer being raised by there parents? I have a pair of young birds that were nesting on the floor of my breeding coop and would like to move them to my flyer coop and don't want to take them away from there parents to early, they are mostly feathered other then under the wings and still have a few yellow feathers on there heads and running around the coop, out of the nest, on the floor, sorry I didn't keep track of when they were born

Give them a few days till they are feathered under the wing. If you watch they will be going to the feeder and picking up grain probably.

I watch for them to be able to fly in the loft well, eat and drink on their own. If you watch the bridge of their beek, when it's almost white they can be moved also. Birds I send to other people I use the first set on; eat, drink and fly.
