Dog's look liked they were having fun, Guns looked like they were having fun . No one died ! except the birds .

I noticed a few practices that would likely draw the ire of the hunter safety instructors. Looked like a fun day of hunting. Don't get many wild birds to hold like that.

Nice dog work . Love the looks of the dogs . Noticed you shot a hen. What state allows this on wild phez??? Saw no retrieving Is this where the dog points and hunter makes the retrieve... :wink:

I've had wild pheasant on public land in SD hold so well I was afraid my lab was going to catch them and she can awfully close, until I limited out and then put her a way for the day. I then grabbed my camera and followed my father with his brittanies. It was quite cold and there was a fresh 2-3 inch snow fall so the birds hunkered down in the laying ground vegetation. Perfect conditions to get solid points.
