On November 7th the Susquehanna Valley Chapter of PA hosted its annual youth pheasant hunt at Central Penn Sporting Clays. It was a full day for 10 young hunters and their families. The day included a brief history of pheasants, the work of PF, our chapter work, hunting laws, hunting with dogs and safety. All participants had donuts prior to the day starting as well as lunch before the hunt. All ten hunters had a chance to shoot at 25 claybirds before eating lunch as a team. Then it was time to head to the fields where 2 youth, 2 mentors and a dog handler worked the fields for some birds. It was a great day with plenty of action for all the kids. A big thank you goes out to all the volunteers and dog handlers who took time out of their day to give the kids a day to remember. A few of the dog handlers and mentors are members of the Keystone Chapter of NAVHDA. It was great to have their help on this day.
