Looking for a low tone beeper. What brand/style do you recommend?

I used bells, then TT beepers successfully for years, but much prefer the GPS now available. Costly, but worth it.

I agree with Neil on the GPS. It's fantastic technology. I prefer the quiet and peace of mind it gives me.

My husband has lost most of his high tone hearing. After owning many different beepers Howie has found the Lovett low tone is best for him. As far as the gps goes Howie can not hear the point signal go off so he finds himself looking at the screen all the time. Problem is we are ruffed grouse hunters and Howie looking at the screen so much that he loses his footing to much in the woods.

For heavy cover birds....Astro and a good bell.....by way of the immediate location nature and track that a bell delivers.
For field birds...Astro alone.

But, as to your question....Lovett beepers, with the tone and features dependent upon your individual requirements.
The best beeper is no longer produced.

Ms Cage, the point alert also has a vibration option. Main Menu>Setup>Dogs>Dog Alerts

GPS all the way. Worth every penny and then some.

I used to use Lovett, but switched to Tri Tronics so I could turn it on and off with my e-collar(really handy--basically I just use it to locate my dog when pointing out of sight). If Tri Tronics didn't have that feature I would go back to Lovett beepers.

I tried the Tri-Tronics but I couldn't locate the pointing dog with it. I kept walking around & couldn't find him. With the Lovett's dual tone, I walk right to him.
