Great trip to Kansas! Dogs first time on wild birds. 60 plus quail and a few roosters!

Good deal. I'm thinking about a late January trip out there. Were you hunting in the south eastern area?

Hunted around Salina. 1st trip to Kansas so I can't speak for numbers being up. We shot over 20 different coveys! First trip for the Pups, 30mph winds made it tough for dogs to lock down first 2 days but they caught on pretty quick! We hunted walkin areas and some private land. Killed all our pheasants on walkin land and shot multiple coveys that crowds couldn't or didn't find.. I have to say nothing like a wild bird flying with a 30 mph wind. Can't wait to go back and will not with fewer than 3 dogs. Good Lord willing Im going back around Christmas! If anyone is willing or looking to go, Me and 3 GSPs are heading that way from the east coast!

man I hunted el dorado to greensburg and up to north of hays. I saw maybe 4 pheasant and 10 quail over 3 days of hunting all day long. Granted I only used walk in hunting land
