False Heat Cycle?

Post by chuckanut » Wed Oct 12, 2016 5:41 pm

I thought my female was coming in season. There seemed to be swelling and even a little bit of blood. It lasted only about 4 days and then stopped. Anyone ever experience something like this? Should I be worried?

Don't sweat it. A young or very active athletic female will have variable heat cycles. Exposure to a male like playing, rough housing or kenneled in close proximity can bring on a heat cycle that will shut off abruptly when she is taken out of the situation. It's just part of having girls, no big deal.
