Right on randomnut. I would own drahts but it gets too hot here at times. I run DK's and hunt the same game

I could tell you that I have one GWP, picked from a litter carefully researched and planned, carefully chosen for my style of hunting. If I were able to do that with a straight face, I'd have a long career in politics and wouldn't have to work another honest day in my life.
I got the dog because my girlfriend at the time was going to buy a dog, with my input or not. She was looking at doodle puppies and Golden Retriever puppies. I wanted to buy some time, and insisted on a pointing breed that wasn't short haired and could retrieve halfway decently or a field bred Golden, which practically narrowed it down to a GWP or a Griffon as i couldn't find a local GR breeder and I insist on visiting the breeeder ahead of time.
So, my GF started calling breeders, we visited one, who hunted a lot with his dogs, I liked both parents, as they were guarded but friendly, and handed him a deposit.
The dog is an odd mix of a well known show kennel and VDD back in the pedigree, and a bit of a hodgepodge in between. Should I have done it differently? Maybe. Has the dog put out what I've put in? Yes and then some, so I guess I can't complain. His shortcomings are mine, and I don't think they can be attributed to his breeding or anything else.

Yea, but one would be foolish to not have a 'Terrier' .
