Picked up my next hunting buddy
Picked up my next hunting buddy
I haven't had a dog for several years due to the decline in quail populations locally, but they seem to be on a slight upswing, so considering that I have a son and grandson that like to shoot birds, had to get a pup. Just picked her up yesterday, from Jim Harris in Fort Scott, Ks, nice pedigree, pretty pup, hopefully she will find some birds by this fall. I plan on killing about 100 over her before the opener, so she should be ready, in a pup kinda way!

If there aren't puppy pictures, it didn't happen

There will be some! Just haven't got the good ones yet. Honestly, before work, I was busy moving a bear rug and picking up my Nikes that she was chewing on.

Congratulations. On your new pup.
Send her up to washington and I'll post some pictures for you.
Always good to have a spare pair in the closet just in case.
Been missing a work boot for 3 weeks. He got board and dug it back up few days ago. However not in quite as good of shape after a couple weeks in the snow.

Re: Picked up my next hunting buddy
am I overlooking something, or did you mention what kind you got?
Re: Picked up my next hunting buddy
That's what I was going to ask. Best wishes to you and the pup anyway.

Obviously, after the picture, she is an English Pointer. It was quite a tough job getting her to hold still for a couple of seconds to get a picture! Her sire is by Honky Tonk Attitude and out of Jim's Guard Rail Spirit/Honky Tonk Attitude bitch. On the bottom side, her dam is a daughter of Erin's Bad River, out of a daughter of Erin's Wild River/Elhew Sinbad. There's a lot of good bird dogs in the pedigree, so she should find some birds this fall. I'll get her started on some pigeons, an shoot about 100 pen raised quail over her before hunting time gets here.

I've been shown how to stack puppies with cheese. They don't get that scared look like without cheese. What about adult dogs? Do you have any good tips on stacking adult pointers??shags wrote:Oh you pointer guys! Someone needs to show y'all how to stack a dog .
