My pudelpointer has always ridden in the cab but, this year since I have two now, I'm getting a cap on my pickup and having them ride in the back. I have Ruff Tough kennels for them and was looking at the Mud River kennel covers. At what temperatures should I consider having an uninsulated or insulated cover on their kennel?

I've got a GSP that rides in a kennel in the uncovered bed of my pickup. I usually put the cover on when it gets below 45, mostly to cut wind. She is usually happy down to the mid 20's with some straw in the bottom. One night I had to leave both the GSP and my GWP X Lab in the covered kennel over night. It got down to 0 that night. When I got up the next morning to let them out it was like a sauna in the kennel. I would say with a cover on the pickup I wouldn't worry about a pudelpointer, without a cover on the kennel, until it got into the teens or 20's with some straw or a pad in the kennel.
