Funny or odd looking points

Post by bamanicksbd » Sat Dec 07, 2019 2:28 am

Got this funny pic of Nick with a wrap around point. The wind was whipping around and he had come in from the wrong side on this bird. I think these are some of the most amazing points where the dog just locks up in some crazy position. Its a testament to how strong the pointing instinct is. Lets see others. I love these. I can imagine the caption on this one. "Ohhhwhoaaa, he's right back there." ImageImage

Yes, those are the best. Got one last week while Whip was trotting along a field edge. He just spun sideways and LOCKED!

That bird's in the freezer~

Those are great! I like to see a dog lock up and stay in the position it hit's the bird! Sometime's Stormy hit's in strange positions. This bird he'd passed and some how hit it on the down wind side! Bird is about a foot behind him. You can see it at the base of the sagebrush.

She went out for a bumper, swam left, dropped the bumper to point a woodcock.

I just love these kinds of pics. I think they show the true strengths of the dogs instincts. You know things were less than perfect maybe wind or moving birds or whatever but the instinct is so strong that they still lock up. Beautiful.

I never got a picture of it, but one of my favorite points is when my Sammy was jumping over a log and locked up on a woodcock before she even hit the ground!
