Reccomendations?
Reccomendations?
Hello new here
I am looking for breed reccomendations and hoping you can help advise.
I have experience with a Golden retriever ( sisters dog when i lived at home) and i know they would suit what im looking for if i went duel purpose or working line but i dont want to deal with a long haired coat , i prefer smooth or short coated breeds.
Im wanting to do Gundog work as i love Field trials (uncle used to work Springers) and i loved watching and would love to give it a go myself. Im also wanting to do agility another sport i really enjoy and would love to do it myself.
Im wanting to stick with Gundog breeds ( im in the UK) and im looking for......
Smooth or short coat
Large size similar to a Golden in size
Easy to train
Quiet ( im not fond of dogs who constantly bark or bark for no reason i prefer quieter dogs like my sisters Golden)
Has an off switch , i know some dogs can be full on and can be hyper or described as bouncing off the walls i want a dog who in the house can switch off and relax with me in the evening
Good with small animals ( i have a cat)
Affectinate and playful
Easygoing , happy go lucky
These are the main things im looking for i really like weimaraners after meeting them but my sister advised i look into a working or duel purpose labrador as they fit most of what i want and they can do what im looking for.
I've also been adviced vizla by a friend too.
What would you reccomend? Do you agree a Lab would be best?

Labs, hands down....
Re: Reccomendations?
So based off what i said in my post you think a Weimaraner would be a good fit?

Lab or one of the shorthaired or wirehaired Continental breeds.

Bracco.
Although maybe bigger than you want. You get the short coat, the easy to train, and the good family house dog.

Golden if you want a flusher. For pointer, bracco, weim or viz. Braccos are typically larger dogs, and somewhat harder to find.

This is a brand new member gentlemen. Let's help her and not use her for jokes please.

Re: Reccomendations?
I appreciate your response but this is very off putting to be made fun off, which here in the UK at least is classed as bullying even if its mild making fun of someone when there is no need for it is just childish and mean ( maybe they should be thinking before they type it might be funny to them but you dont know what that person has gone through that might make them sensitive to such comments or "jokes")
As i cant PM you Sharon or other staff I'll have to ask here could you please close this thread and delete my account. Or if you cant can you tell me who to contact and how to since i can PM anyone?

I'm so very sorry that happened to you. I should have been on it faster. Normally this is a positive, helpful place. You can't delete your account , but you can just not post again and log out. PMs are only allowed after 5 approved posts to control spammers/advertisers. I hope you'll give it another try.( I would go with a lab. Meets all your criteria.)
