Green algae
Re: Green algae
I can't say for sure.
"Toxic algae can look like foam, scum, or mats on the surface of water, said Schmale. Harmful algae blooms, which can be blue, vibrant green, brown or red, are sometimes mistaken for paint floating on the water.
Toxic algae often stink, sometimes producing a downright nauseating smell, yet animals may be attracted to the smell and taste of them, according to the EPA." quote

Re: Green algae
I’m not scientist but I don’t believe that to be the super harmful Cyanobacteria. That looks like run of the mill fibrous pond scum. We’ve been having issues w the blue green algae where I live in south Florida and it’s a killer. It looks more like a green film/plume on the water. Once it starts dying, it starts turning blue and releasing all sorts of nastiness. Stay away from that stuff.
