Lesters Snowatch????

Anyone seen this dog run or heard anything about him???

I guess that nobody has. I do know that he is a champion and he recently won a AA trial in KY.

I have not seen him run. I do have a connection to his owner Gary Lester, if you would like to get more info on him. The breeder of my derby prospect - Nathan Phillips of Phillips Whiteline Kennels, sold a dog to Gary Lester - Phillips White Twist. I am sure Nathan could help you out. Thank you rookie, i recently bought a six month old male out of snowatch and a white powder female and was just curious what kind of dog he was.

How do you like the pup? Where was the female from? I know Nathan and the Wiggins kennels have a lot of White Powder in their dogs.

I got the dog from dave baumgarner out of xenia il. I have only had the dog for a few weeks. When i bought the dog he didnt have a name, was rarely put on birds, so he says. I went and bought the dog, we did run him and a sister, i liked the way he ran and the way he was bred, so i bought him. I dont run any trials at all but have been to alot of trials. (NSTRA) But maybe someone could help me out. I have been to Wiggins and Dave baumgarners place and the have a enormous amount of dogs (25-100 dogs)! Dave didnt have near as many as wiggins but is this what AA guys do? Just breed dogs and keep ALL the puppies and comb thru the big running dogs?? Seems like to me that there is alot of wasted dogs.

Bob Wehle was able to sell the dogs he rejected...now Ferrell Miller......no comment for now......

I will give you my 2 cents worth...from very limited exposure to this.

It seems as though there are three "camps" in the AA arena. Owners, handlers and breeders. And many times these camps cross over...Example Gary Lester is an owner and handler at times (he may \even breed a litter or two, not sure). There are many breeders out there that have brood b$#@*s they breed to the top males. It is more wide spread in this AA arena that the breeders may keep the litter, or a high percentage of the litter, and run them in their derby years. Thus gaining exposure for the top pups out of these top males. Then, there is more opportunity to sell these dogs with derby placements for the top field trialers, and those of us who would like to be in the top. Then the others out of the litter who may not cut it in AA are sold to others...NSTRA, Hunters, etc.

So to have a high number of dogs at a kennel for the AA guys is not uncommon. They are looking for the next Shell Creek Coin, and it may only come around once in a lifetime...they can go through a LOT of dogs to find that one pup.

Again, this is my own opinion with limited exposure.

I noticed in a Field ad the other day, that Shell Creek Coin (currently reigning NC) was formerly Lester's Gold Coin, another Lester dog.
