Pigeon Destroys Eggs
Pigeon Destroys Eggs
Has anyone every had experience with pigeons crushing their own eggs.
After about 14 days this happened with a mated pair that was sitting eggs.
Was it because they were careless or did they know they weren't going to hatch?

I have a few pairs that only hatch about 60% of the eggs the lay. They dont crush them, rather they throw them out of the box's. I look at it as natural selection and dont worry because they always lay again in a few days. I wouldnt worry about it to much unless you are in need of more pigeons.

Pigeons know if something is wrong with them. Where they fertile? Did you have a small baby there where the egg broke? My guess would be you didn't and the birds knew it.
