I was just wondering what every body shoots. I have a benelli nova hardwoods camo! I love that gun! It will do any kinda hunting I want! Also what shot does everyone use? I use 5 or six for pheasant and 7 1/2 or 8 for quail. Usually federal.

Right now, my shotgun in a Nova like yours only black. One day I would like a nice O/U shotgun. For a reliable all around gun you can't beat and 870 or a Nova. I am thinking about trying the recoil reducer that Benelli makes for the Nova.

6 Shot for pheasants.

7 1/2 for quail at the trials.

Benelli Super Black Eagle, with a 24'' barrel. I shoot geese in the morning running 3 1/2" steel, then shoot roosters in the afternoon running 2 3/4" lead.

I shoot a '64 Belgian Browning A-5 Light Twelve.

Danyelle shoots my starter gun, a 20 ga. Mossberg 500. It's a heck of a gun and cheap too! I'm sure eventually I'll upgrade her to a nice quality autoloader, but the budget is too tight right now. Besides, she shoots that Mossy as well as I ever did so as long as the birds (or clays) come down that's all I need to worry about. :D

I too shoot a Baikal 20 ga o/u. For the money, I'm not sure you can find a better o/u.

I've shot ~100 quail / chukars with it this past spring and summer and 4 grouse, 1 woodcock, and 4 pheasants with it so far this fall.

For ducks and geese, I shoot a Tri-Star CD Diana 12 ga semi camo'd in Tru-Woods Transition.

12 ga. 870 synthetic super mag for ducks and geese, 12 ga. Baikal (I'm surprised that so many have this gun) sxs with a 24" barrel for upland hunting and a Ithaca model 37 sweet 16 for doves. Also have an old Winchester model 97 that I don't shoot much.
Hey, looking at my list I think I could use an automatic

CZ-USA will be the importer of Huglu's next year. Not sure what they will do on cost. This makes me happy as CZ's are my favorite handguns.

The 28 gauge is sweet, but you really need to load your own to make it economical. If you do, it's as cheap as any other shell.

Best,

Browning BPS in 12ga with 21" barrel. Short enough for grouse and 3" shells shoot farther than I can accurately so no need for anything else. 13 other guns mostly collecting dust!

One Gun that i forgot to mention was my 12 gauge Browning B-80
I think it is the lightest 12 gauge auto loader i have ever held. I loved this gun in dove fields, it stays at home with my dad now, but come to think of it i should have brought it up here and tried it on grouse. It weighs about the same as my beretta 20 autoloader and probably comes up quicker.

Am I the only A-5 owner? My light twelve (and my grandfather's sweet sixteen) are great on all upland game.

Yeah, yeah, I'd love to have an O/U someday... but for the budget the A-5 has got to be the highest-quality most versatile thing I've shot.

I can't stand the A-5. They are stocked bad for me. I always end up looking into the back of the hump. Since I shoot a O/U mostly, the long-recoil action feels like it's going to jump out of my hands...it drives me crazy.

I shoot 1100's some. They are great for doves, etc. because they swing so well. That's why they used to be used so much by target shooters. OTOH, they can be finicky and are prone to rusting. Some of the Benelli and Beretta autos are nice.

I can't stand SxS's either, though I appreciate the tradition and the way they feel between the hands. Having all those barrels out there to point over freaks me out when I bring them up on game.

I guess I'm strictly an O/U guy from here on out. I love my Beretta 682 skeet gun. My wife gave it to me in 1990. It's built like a bank vault. Too heavy for field work, but terrific for target shooting.

I shoot a Huglu over/under. 103 CE 12 ga. (I think the model # is different now, they change importers a lot) I'm surprised to see other Huglu owners here. I did not think they were that popular.

I use to shoot a Remington 870 Wingmaster light contour 12 guage withwhich I was super deadly on target with. I also used my dad's old remington 1100 20 ga. after he got his Benelli Legacy 20, which is a very nice gun. This year I went to a Beretta AL391 Urika 20 ga. and I love it. I wish remington made it's 1187 or 1100 as light as this Beretta or dad's legacy, if they did I'd hunt with it in a heartbeat over any ohter gun out there.

Well I guess I will be the first with an HK to post. As far as shotguns goes I have the following in 12 ga with 26". I really want to get a a pair of16ga o/u but thing I will get a do first. Here's what I got:

Mossberg 500 which has been trimmed down for my 13y/o son

Rem 1187 my father bought it for my son & he will start using it once he grows a little as I don't feel like getting a youth stock for this , when he already has the Mossberg

HK Silver lion O/U tribore ported barrels
