I have taken the plunge into birddog maddness.

Picked up a 5 month old Large Munsterlander. Now the fun begins. She has had "limited training" but after just a day is allready responding and coming about 80% to her "new" name.

Breeder recomended this book;
"How To Help Gun Dogs Train Themselves" By Joan Baily
Havent gotten it yet, was curious if anyone else has use it and what they thought?

Pic in Avatar, not sure how to get it posted in chat window.

I've got the book and found it a great read. Its more about "conditioning" a dog in its first year for training than it is really about training.

Good book, as mentioned it's more about setting the dog up for success without much formal training in it's first year...and helping prevent major mistakes.

Good luck with your LM...

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.
