Just a little brag of my own
Due to a post on another site I found out that GSPCA is now posting top ten rankings on their website. I of course went over to look and see if I recognized any names. I certainly did, a lot of dogs I know were there.
It was more than a little heart warming to see that with attending just six trials this year Bullett was in the top ten limited dogs. He had another limited win and a couple of placements I think after that was tabulated so he may get to be on it for a while.
I'll be sure and tell him he's had his fifteen minutes of fame when I feed him this evening. CR

That is not a brag but a fact. We need to know the facts.

Yahh, fun stuff CR!! Good luck with the rest of the year...or is the year complete? Do they calculate those things on a calendar year or on the traditional field trial season like the Purina Points DOY system?
Re: Just a little brag of my own
I think I like the fact that it is based on dogs defeated, instead of a point system like most DoY.
If a dog defeats 100 dogs with 2nds in three 35 dog stakes, that is nearly as impressive, in my mind, as 5 firsts in 21 dog stakes.
As most of you know, AKC only tracks FC points for their Top Dog, which in Open stakes is pretty much winner take all (except for two points for 2nd in 25+ dog stakes).
I have always tracked dogs defeated in my own dogs.

Charlie, That must make you swell some. Congrats.
The best part of training is seeing the light come on in your little prot'eg'e.

Sorry hadn't looked in here for a while.DGFavor wrote:Yahh, fun stuff CR!! Good luck with the rest of the year...or is the year complete? Do they calculate those things on a calendar year or on the traditional field trial season like the Purina Points DOY system?
Doug I don't know this to be a fact but based on looking at the 2007 numbers my guess is it's calculated on a Jan 1-Dec 31 calendar.
The only way he'll get a chance to stay on that list in the fall is if I send him off with Bryan. I'd really like to get him finished up. You know he was nearly six when his FT career started, and he just turned 8 in May and he just needs one more win to finish up. That all being the case I'm strongly considering doing just that for his sake, not mine. I'd LOVE to do it all myself but I just can't get to more than a couple of trials in the fall usually. Sometimes I have to think pretty hard and remind myself that is REALLY is supposed to be more about the dogs than it is us.
On top of that I've got some really nice young dogs that I think would greatly benefit from more of my time between hunts.
Thanks again everyone. CR

That is truly awesome and you are certainly welcome to brag on your dog Bullett a while. It is also most certainly a further recognition of your continuing breeding efforts.
Well done both for you and for Bullet. I would encourage you to finsih off his FC, both for his sake and for the sake of your program. For me it is kinda like a getting a diploma...you can be soooo close an not graduate and all that is official is that yu didn't graduate.
Git 'er done. You won't regret it.
Trialing sure does get under your skin, doesn't it.
