Went to my first JH test ever this weekend with Caliber 2-14-09/2-15-09. That the Diamond State GSP Assoc. put on in Delaware. I want to thank Margaret and all the great people that put this on and any of the judges that delt with my dogs, horsey shananagans the first day. Met many a great people at this event really alot of fun. My bracemate dorothy was great and understanding that we were newbys as well. And thanks to everyone that I met for all the advise, everyone there was so helpful and the burgers were great.. compliments to the chef.
I just ran Caliber in this first test to see how things worked and The first day was a little shaky as Cal had never seen a horse before ( and noone clued me in that the judges would be riding horses)
So needless to say the young Cal was very interested in the horses barking and growling at them from time to time to say the least, but he managed to pull out a bird and get a ribbon and his first leg of the Junior hunting test title.
I was very proud even though I was quite the rube as one of my good friends would say

at the first test day and it showed.

Day 2 went much better Cal ran out front and forgot all about the horses (to my relief) found birds and scored his second leg for the JH title.. Of course I was extremley happy to see that Cal quickly overcame his interest in the horses and hunted as I had hoped for by day 2. You might be able to see my bloodpressure had dropped slightly in the day 2 picture
