Parker's First Pheasant

Post by Greg Jennings » Fri Sep 23, 2005 7:47 pm

My son Parker and daughter Cara were out doing a little scratch hunting at the hunting preserve.

Parker bagged his first pheasant. It's a hen, but that's fair game on the preserve.

BTW, he *crushed* it with his 28 ga.

Good for Parker, I can only assume that Cara is too young to hunt as she is not holding a firearm. My daughter tagged along for a lot of years till she was old enough to hunt for real. Neat feeling teaching the kids.Congrats SDGORD

Cara was there too. She just didn't get an opportunity to shoot. Pissed her off, too.

Best,

Ryan

That first pheasant is a good feeling. Wait till he gets his first rooster.

Congrats Parker

Congrats Parker!

I'm sure that Cara is steadfast in thinking that anything he can do she can do too. (Sisters are like that :D ) I'll be she was zipped by not gettin a chance to show 'em up!

Pretty much sums it up.

Sadly, she inherited my perfectionist tendencies.

What great looking kids, Greg.

True story: I was at an RGS dinner several years ago, and they had a raffle where the winner could pick either a really pretty 20 side by, or a silver fox stole, for the winning ticket. In past banquets we did, a guy would always win, and would pick the stole to take home to the wife. At this particular banquest, however, a 15 year old girl had the winning ticket. She walked right up to the podium, grabbed the 20, and hugged it with a big smile. Needless to say, she got a standing O in that room.
