Congrats, I swing thru and watch every once in a while, but did not have a chance to come by and watch. I was to busy training and chasing kids around. I only live 8 miles away. When are you going to be up next? I would like to start meeeting some of the GDF people when they are in the area.

Bill,

I don't think they did any good in puppy/derby. Boy's was our gang's only placement in the Amateur and the Open Gun Dog was still underway....it was a pretty big stake at 38 dogs. Boy did not have a point in the Gun Dog, just a stop to flush. I understand it was not as difficult as last year, but a lot of dogs were going birdless.

I will probably hear more once they get on the road to Montana this afternoon.

Turns out I was half correct on the puppy/derby. Dennis got a first and third in the puppy....didn't have a derby with a find.
Boy was the only placement in the Amateur. Bandit had a real nice run and a back, but didn't have a find. Deja had a find in a thicket, but handler could not produce a bird and after a few relocations, she took the bird out about 20 yds. out in the open. Dennis had no dogs make the call back in the open gun dog. Natasha probably had the best run of his bunch in gun dog.
Tex was not in the ogd, but was in the olgd and had no bird at time....pointed a turkey shortly after time.

Bossman,
Boy is a two and one-half year old sired by FC Trueblue's Hud's Kickin Up Dust out of a dam (Tejas Magnum's Jazz) sired by NC NRC's Magnum's Touch of Gold and Dixieland's Little Cleo. Cleo was also the dam of GSPCA Futurity runner-up Wildfeathers Face the Music.

Chad,
I will not be able to make it, but my brother and likely some other Gun Dog Forum posters will be at the GSPC of Nebraska trial that will be held back at Branched Oaks 9-17 thru 9-21. That trial should have quite a few more entries as well as quite a few more stakes.

Ken,

Thanks for the update on the trial. It's quite a bit more information than we're used to.

The win by Boy is great news!!!

My first conversation with your brother about his dog was during our ride to Comanche last January..
Over the last year Wayne has spent some time with him and it's paying off.
