Pretty Good October....

Post by Coveyrise64 » Mon Oct 26, 2009 11:44 am

Because of some health issues with my white/liver female GSP it was a pretty frustarting 2009 NAVHDA Invitational but things might be looking up. After a short break with her to hunt sharptails and chickens in SD I ran her in our NAVHDA Test two weeks ago and requalified her for next years Invitational. That same weekend 4 of my pups passed their Natural Ability Test (3 at our test and 1 in Missouri) to earn their mother (the dog in my avatar) a NAVHDA Breeder's Award.

Got back late last night from a long weekend in Kansas. The Southern Kansas Brittany Club and the Sunflower GSP Club held a double Hunt Test Sat/Sun. The tests were full and even had an AKC Field Rep present to monitor the activities. The wind blew both days and a little rain on sunday made the conditions difficult for everyone. On Sunday my white/liver GSP female was the only dog that passed MH on the Brittany field. For the weekend she passed 3 of her 4 MH tests. It sure made the trip home a little nicer, I didn't have to beat myself up trying to figure out if I made very many handling mistakes. She only needs one placement to finish her MH so I might try to finish that in TX before we break for hunting season. Not sure yet on TX though, I think we both could use some free time.

If you do make it down for the Trinity Valley Weim club hunt test make sure and say high. I have a blue 4 door GMC pickup and I will most likely be planting birds most of the day and my wife will be tending to the coffee and we have string of dogs that kind of stands out.

Will do, if I come that way. I haven't completely decided on whether I will come or not.

AC,

It is next weekend (Nov 7-8). It looks like I might only go on sunday, I'm helping a friend on sat with a german test he is having for DD's. He lets me use his grounds and water so its payback time. I don't mind though, the dogs are what it's all about.

All are welcome, we do our best to put on a good Hunt Test and usually have some good grub. This year we are trying to do something a little different with the food and allow a local 4H club provide it as a fundraiser, but we are still working out the details. If anyone needs a preamium send me your email adress and I can get one to you.
