One Hour Championship

Post by Hotpepper » Tue Sep 28, 2010 8:34 pm

At Region 8 Open Shooting Dog championship the winner was Texas Hoosier Girl, call name Indy, 4 very nice finds and a 5 point major win for the real nice 3 year old. Terry and Kirk Bomer ae the owners and have done just a great job of bringing her along. Pat Waresk was the handler and she did a great job with the retrieve.

Indy will do really well down the road.

She is a half sister to LB, same momma and of course then J R is out of LB. Easy answer. The issue is that Pepper, the grandma dog was not bred enough, (my fault) she was a producer as you can see. (Pepper is LB and Indy's momma, Hoosier Buddy X NFC Dunfur's Morticia) good stuff.

John's got the same issue. He only bred Spot's dam once, producing a super nice litter. Spot in turn was bred once before he was famous. One son was trialed & really looked good but died accidentally at a young age. John has Spot's sister & has never gotten around to breeding her. I have another Spot littermate and have only bred her once. That litter is still young, they have plenty of run but are unproven yet. One of the young dogs is a stylish AA prospect who my pro claims is about the fastest dog he's seen. I think he just tells me that to make me feel good before he starts rippin on how hard the dog is to train.

I might breed my female again one last time in the spring if the stars are aligned and I'm satisfied I've found the right stud. #1 on my list is biddability & trainability.

By the way congrats with your dogs and their offspring. I know you spent a lot of years lookin to get what you finally have.

The best part is that I have enough Burr Oaks Hoosier Buddy stuff to make more puppies, won't that be fun. Following the philosphy I have been following, should be great like the others.

The secret is in the bitches, boy dog is awful important as well.
