Open Derby Placement

Post by Casper » Sun May 07, 2006 6:19 pm

Now that I can truthfully say my dog is getting it done I thought I would share a pic of our first trial we entered.

Image

Mac got a real good look from the judges but being I had to foot handle him hindered him in his run. The one judge wanted to see a bigger running dog. He had 2 finds one was a flash point that I didnt see but did see the bird get up. While the judges were busy conversing over the find he found another bird and I had hard time getting the judges attention to see it. The judge caught him just as he punched it out. After that find the heat and excitement had caught up to him and he had nearly given up he had gotten so hot :( The apprentice judge later told me that had it been him and the other judge that realy like him he would have won the stake no questions asked regardless of his run. Than I later found out I could have rented a horse from a wrangler I didnt know was there with available horses. Ohwell there is always next weekend 8)

My run off puppy got lost at the Brittany Club trial and was out of contention too long at the GSP Club trial  She sure has the motor and wheels but no stearing wheel yet :dontknow: :banghead: The judges sure liked her and would have placed her if I could have kept her on course. Maybe next weekend.

Way to go guy. Makes you feel good when something like that works out. Keep building on this and you mitght have a great trial dog and that is fun.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

Thank you all.

I had entered him in the following trial for this weekend but was not allowed to run him since he turned 2 the day before the trial started :( But that is ok now we have something to strive for. Fall season is not that far away :)
