On Saturday, I handled her off of horseback for the first time, in OGD and should have kept my mouth shut. In spite of my over handling, she had a decent run and earned herself a judge's award of merit out of 25 dogs. I was lucky to have a good friend (and experienced trialer) as my scout, so I got lots of good feed back and tips for next time!
On Sunday, Cali ran in AGD Ret. She had a nice run, despite the snow/sleet/mud that we were running in and this time I let her do her thing without interfering. She made it to call backs and had a nice retrieve, earning herself 2nd place - and one point - out of 14 dogs.
I'm very proud of her and, more importantly, got an idea of what we need to work on for the future. My husband and I have done all of Cali's training, and I'm just thrilled that we didn't ruin her
