Gunner takes 2nd at Solon Springs

Post by Greg Jennings » Sun Sep 17, 2006 8:28 pm

Our Fritz pup, Gunner, took 2nd in OGD at Solon Springs, WI. Gunner turned 2 in June and this is his third time out in broke dog stakes with pro handler Greg Dixon.

There weren't enough dogs in the stake for this to yield any points toward his FC, but finishing his FC early isn't the game that I'm playing.

Best regards,

Thanks, Bruce, Brenda.

He's coming along nicely. I'm very happy with the way Dixon is developing him.

Best,

CONGRATULATIONS that is GREAT! He will probably have that FC faster than you expect:)

(P.S. and it won't be so bad to have a Foo Foo 'DC' dad:)

Greg

Nice job by Gunner, heard that OGD was a four point stake.

I imagine he will be entered at Colfax this upcoming weekend. I'll stop in and give him a good boy pat on the head for you.

Chris,

Yep. Four pointer. Needed a few more dogs for the 5/2 deal.

Yep. He'll be at Colfax this coming weekend. Greg D said that he was running him in both OGD and OLGD. I hope so, it'll be good for him.

Please do pat him on the head. While you're at it, rub the base of his ears. He's done well.

I miss the little rascal.

Hey Greg, I was gone and missed your post. Sounds like you are on a roll. Knockin at the door. Those are grounds for a big running dog also. Pretty area. There was a major circuit AF trial up there for many decades until last year. Did you get to go?

Hi John,

Thank you for the kind words.

I didn't get to go. I was at Portage the week before to see him run for all of 30 seconds.

From Greg D's description, the pup didn't run quite as good at SS as he did at Branched Oak and was looking to run at Portage. Basically, he shortened up in the middle.

GD said that he was great on his bird work...stood firm on a covey find.

He's at Colfax this weekend, then Heart of America, and wraps up at the Sunflower. I can't make it to any of them.

Hi Dennis,

Thank you for the kind words about the pup.

I'm happy with his progress and I'm going to hang in there with him and see where it goes.

I haven't talked to Greg D. I'm going to try to get in touch with him tonight.

Greg,I really enjoy greg, and liz.My personal best part was that greg missed blaze ripping a covey,he saw him only after he was on the rope.
In all,I saw some really nice dogs run last weekend, the linited stake was as good as it gets.

Wilson won the OLGD. Dixon picked up Gunner because he was being a rascal in the woods with another dog. Puppy crap that you can't encourage by leaving them down. Before that, he was running better than he did in the OGD.

Greg, had figured to shake your hand on Sat at the Weim event but no luck. Congrats late anyway and we'll be at Outback this weekend too if you get bored.

Hi Colin,

I talked to Jeni and she indicated that she didn't need the help. So, I didn't think it was for the greater good for me to go to the kids' soccer games rather than come hang out.

I'm going to be at the Weim trial at Indian Creek Friday and Saturday to help out.

Best,
