FT Handling Brags

Post by Buckeye_V » Tue Apr 10, 2007 1:54 pm

In my first experience handling broke gundog stakes I ran both limited stakes at the MVVC field trial and placed 3rd in both. Granted, I ran an NAFC dog, ut it was still difficult. First stake I flushed a turkey after a find and the second stake he flushed a deer.

Anyhow, just thought I would toot my horn a bit. I had so much fun!

There is both more to it, and less to it, than one would think. Less is more, but some at the right time is very important. Congrats.

Oh yeah, I'm hooked. The next 3 weekends i will be travelling around Ohio and Michigan running this dog and scouting for another. This is great experience for this fall, when my gundog will be ready (hopefully).

It is such a rush riding through the woods and fields watching a good dog work. It is a challenge to add the right commands at the right time to help showcase the dog. It is why I love to do it!
