Captain finishes strong!

Post by Buckeye_V » Tue Oct 23, 2007 2:34 pm

There has beena theme to the fall season for Captain, and that is finishing strong. For a young dog he finishes strong and wants to hunt more when we pick him up. He's got a lot of fire in his belly and he is stylish when he points. I love this little guy!

The last trial of the season was a large entry at the MVVC trial at Indian Creek. I handled Captain in his third Derby entry ever and we took a third in some very stiff competition with a 9 month old dog! He had 2 finds and a beautiful point on a pile of feathers (doesn't count).

On SUnday I had to leave for hunting ground sup north, so my wife handled the little guy in her first field trial stake ever and took a 1st in her first time handling him! She did a fine job and he even had a nice find, from what I understand. That first completes the puppy points for his AFC.

Altogether we have finished the fall with one ribbon for each puppy stake entered. 4 blue, 2 red, 1 yellow and one white. He also has one yellow in derby stakes.

I will post a pic of him with his ribbons this weekend!!!

Atta boy!

Justin

Justin I've seen the little guy work... Are you sure he's not a GSP that has been air brushed to look like a Vizsla? LOL  Just kidding Congrats nice work and nice pup !! ..."pear"

he-he-he-he-he. No offense taken. I wanted a dog I could compete anywhere with. I think I got him!

I just may never be able to handle him again now that Dr. Allen got her hands on him.

Congrats! Real nice dog you have there with quite a bit of promise and he's getting the ribbons to show for it.

You send those samples for Dr. Neff in yet?

Not yet. He has not been in to the Doc yet. We'll get it scheduled soon though because I am now home and not traveling as much.

Thanks for the compliment. We love the little bugger and are proud of his progress!

Congrats Justin, sounds like a successful season. I have been talking with Denny and Linda and I am just anxiously awaiting a breeding. She seemed to think sometime in the spring.

Edit: For some reason my post inserted before I could finish typing. Anyway, I just wanted to drop a line of congrats. Hopefully our new pup will be along the same lines. Maybe we will be able to introduce them sometime.

Don't give up yet Justin. You and Denny need to go to Mid TN GSP in late Nov. early Dec. Great Grounds with some nice winter wheat Fields and great people.

I have to agree with the rest of the gang you have a very nice dog and have a lot of fun ahead of you. If Dr Allen needs a dog we can help her out in Dec. With a Sage Pup.

Congrats and get a hold of us if you want to go to TN.
