Male Pointer was for sale, now placing

Post by topher40 » Sun Feb 17, 2008 11:13 am

Buck, my avatar dog, placed in his first AFTCA walking trial this weekend! Weather was perfect with cold and rainy conditions. He ran a wider race than I like but that was do to the cover on the course and all the dogs were running wide. He had two finds on liberated birds, the first was at 5 and he was dead broke only taking a step as I walked up to release him. His second find came after he had been out of pocket for 4-5 minutes and was found to the front standing a bird at about 250 yds. He looked like one of Yawallacs dogs and as soon as he came into view I thought Yawallac would be drooling if he was were there! This young derby was "cranked" to the heavens and the only person in the gallery other than the judges rode up to say how nice of a find it was! All in all not bad for only the third trial for this dog ever to compete in. Should be a great season and hopefully will have more brags as the season progresses!

Yer dog's hitting big and looks like you're keeping him!

From the subject of your post, I thought you decided to give the dog away, and was wondering why...

If it aint legal moral and ethical I dont want anything to do with it! Hopefully there will be a couple of more placements this weekend, he is running in 2 one day trials over the weekend for a new handler. I guess its just wait and see if he will do it for another schmo! Thanks for all the encouragement!
