Small Brag -Soldier goes BOW in Houston

Post by Kiki's Mom » Mon Jul 21, 2008 8:56 am

Our boy, Wild Mtn's Shake Ya Tailfeather - AKA "Soldier" Went WD and BOW for a 4pt major win, this past Saturday in Houston Texas. The Texas circuit typically has 3 weeks of Brittany Majors.

This gives Soldier 7 pts, and both majors toward his AKC CH title and we couldn't be more pleased! Soldier is ONLY shown on rare occassion during the summers as his greatest joy is running and hunting. Soldier has both Puppy and Derby points to date, and just completed his first season in the adult stakes this past Spring, where he picked up a couple placements. He is just 3 years old.

What makes this little win so special to us is that Soldier also happens to be a very dark liver color...a color that is typically harder to to compete with in the ring. 8)

Hoping now that Soldier will become our third (and first homebred) DC in the not so far off future.

pretty tough competition

Congratulations Helen. I'm glad your trip to TX was fruitful. Drive safely and I'll see you this fall....or maybe in the ring before then? :P :P

Thanks....;-) The very best part of the trip though was seeing and spending time with family. My niece is already 3 and I miss everybody down here very much. It has been a great two weeks with the win being just icing on the cake.

I'll be home in a couple days and ready to get started on the field stuff for the Fall run. Hudson Valley's trial will be upon us in just about 4 weeks.

Congrats Helen!!! That's great news for Soldier. I know my wife and I were taken by him when we dropped our girl off last month. Good to see he's doing well!!!

Excellent! I was just at a show in Calagary Alberta and telling a fellow with a liver girl about Soldier. I think he is a great dog and could not be happier for him or you guys.

Thanks guys. He is a tuff boy to show as he absolutely HATES the show ring. . Soldier has one more show this summer and then we hang it all up and he gets to stay out in the field where he is happiest. Maybe by the time we are both old we will have managed to get those final single points done. We will take where we can get them
