Unforgettable Trial Weekend

I was able to run this past weekend at the Weim Club of Greater Louisville and the Kentuckiana Pointing Breed Association.

On Thursday Lindy (who just completed her AFC on 1/31 & 2/1 at H of A) won the OGD for 4 points.

On Friday Wendell took won the 3 pt AGD-Ret, while his mother Briar took 2nd place to complete her AFC with 1 pt (She completed her FC in May).

On Saturday Wendell won the OGD for 4 points.

On Sunday Wendell took 2nd in the AGD-Ret for 1pt, and WON the OLGD-Ret for 2 points. This completed his Field Championship and makes him a Dual Champion at the tender age of 3.

All in all, we ran in 5 stakes and took 4 blues and 2 reds, completed 2 titles. These dogs... they put their heart and soul into their work and I am blessed to have had the opportunity to come along for the ride.

Thanks to all for the congrats... This trial was originally scheduled to run in early Feb. and I was planning on it as a tune up for the NAGDC. Anyway, it got rescheduled due to ice storms and I thought I had missed another opportunity. Well, when the NAGDC cancelled I was already in for this one and it really seemed to work out. I have to admit it all still seems pretty surreal, maybe it'll sink in soon!

I will be old and gray sitting in my wheelchair at the old folks home drooling on myself and telling stories from this weekend... It was just phenomenal.

(And yes, Hotpepper - my wife asked the same question! Ha!!! I'll keep you posted with what we come up with to keep ourselves occupied

Caleb, that is one heck of a weekend. Congrats man, I think i remembered when you just got bit by this whole trial thing when I ran into you in Iowa. Thought you had some decent dogs back then, obviously you did, that and a lot of hard work looks like it paid off. Way to go.

I might have a dog or two entered in the Gateway trial and plan to be down for the Reg 5 Derby, maybe I'll catch up to you there.

Yep Chris, the worst thing that ever happened to me was showing up at that first trial and taking first and second place!!!! I think you ran into me a couple weeks after that first trial, when reality was starting to set in! Ha! I may try to make an appearance at Gateway - hopefully run into you there. If not maybe at your walking trial later this spring.

Can't seem to track down the photo of his AGD win from that weekend... But he did take 2nd place in March in another 3pt AGD which gives him 6pts toward his AFC.
