Blaze was the AKC's #5 Brittany Gun Dog last year. He's run a very consistent gun dog ground race for the last 3 seasons....stretching a little bit more with each season.
This weekend I put Blaze in our AAA stake just for kicks. We didn't need anymore gun dog entries and I was just looking for some handling experience, plus we were trying to build a major so we wouldn't lose some of our AAA entries.
Well the little booger surprised us all and put on quite the show!!! He had a HUGE run and 1 find (in 25 MPH sustained winds with 60 MPH gusts) and WON the AAA stake!!! So that's 3 points and the Brittany major he needs toward his AFC.
We ran the AGD Sunday but should have been in the all age stake again....too much run!
Who'd have thunk.
