Another Championship

Post by Hotpepper » Sat Sep 12, 2009 7:02 am

The Wagonmaster's Dog Spot, won the Prarie Chicken Allage Championship, it is his 19 one hour win and he is still not an old dog. Eldon Hongo was the handler athe dog had a covey of prarie chickens and a covey of quail, all mwere wild. It really does make a difference when you hunt the dog.

Congratulations John

Thanks everyone. Yeah, he and Eldon are kinda on a roll. I just try to stay out of the way!

Since this is the brag section, I guess I could say that I really like the fact that it was a wild bird trial, he had a find on a big group of chickens. Eldon is back training on wild birds, and that is very good for a dog. And also that I am impressed at Spot's versatility. He has hour wins in Maryland, Illinois, Arkansas, Kansas, Texas, Wyoming, Idaho, Arizone, and now Nebraska, and on quail, chukar, huns, pheasants, and now prairie chickens, not to mention the mice he roots out at my house.

The best part for me are all the great friends and good people I have met along the way. Would not know where to start listing them all.

Uh huh...  I always like to see how the good ones'll go when things are tough - naked, no boots - see if they are the great ones!!  But all the dog's really gotta do is impress his 'ol man and he's done a great job of that for sure!!

Way to go fellars, excellent team and super guys!

FWIW, I didn't think it was that hot back there during the shorthair Sharptail so surprising to hear dogs scratching from the "heat"? Also heard of a bunch of 'em scuffing pads which surprises me in that country. Do we need to do a gut check on our breed??? :?
