Defect dog win!!

Post by MTO4Life » Mon Sep 21, 2009 4:06 pm

Hi all... just a humble brag about my pup. I received my second dog at the beginning of the summer as a problem dog (hence the defect dog name) who needed obedience training as there were issues with this first family. I took him and started working with him, but haven't done any official field training with him, just let him run around and such. I went to the Pennsylvania Brittany Club walking trial this weekend to see my bitch running in the adult stakes, and figured I'd put Gunner in the Amat. and Open puppy stakes for fun. Well, in the amat. stake, he had a great run, and ended up with a 4th out of 9 dogs. I didn't even expect anything, I just wanted him to get a run in and have fun. On the sunday, he ran in the open against 7 other dogs. He ran really hard and forward, hitting the edges and the cover. He ended up putting in the winning run for both his puppy points! I was stoked as he was just there to have fun. I'm so proud of him, so now I have to start working with him to get into the derby stakes (these were his last puppy runs)! Just had to let the folks know as I'm a happy guy!

WOW!! Big Congrats to both of you, well done.
It just goes to show you that with a little patience and love...you can can bring the best out of a dog. All he needed was the right enviroment and to be with someone he "wants" to please........Bingo!!! Nice job, and the best of luck with your pup, sounds as though he found himself the right home.

We give dogs time we can spare, space we can spare and love we can spare.
And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made.
