IT'S BEEN A GOOD WEEKEND
I'm not going to call this a brag but just a really good weekend.
I started out winning the big prize (a whopping $15 gift card to Wendy's) at a "game night" we have at church ever so often.
Then, I got a call Friday night from Tom Tracy saying my young Brittany female made runner up in the Prarie States Classic Derby. I owe a huge thanks to Tom.
And last but not least, I managed to gain the 5th MH leg for my Top Gun female, Diamond this past Saturday morning. She will be two near the end of May. She has managed to make it this far even with my rookie training. It's a good thing she practically trained herself .
All in all, it's the best weekend I have had in a while!

Re: IT'S BEEN A GOOD WEEKEND
Thanks everyone!
Vonzeppelin, believe me, I thought hard on the lottery ticket after gaining the 5th MH leg Saturday morning. However, after my next female was turned down around 1 hour later due to taking 1 step forward on a bird I had to kick up from under her chest, I changed my mind on buying that lottery ticket .
Brenda, thanks for the compliment. I greatly appreciate your willingness to share your experience and knowledge with me whenever I have a question.
Andy, thanks for the compliment. That Dez is quite the looker himself.
Thanks

Re: IT'S BEEN A GOOD WEEKEND
Brenda, I took Bee on a "hunting trip" early this morning with launchers with pigeons planted throughout an nice big area. She was all business.
I will let her go along ~ once per week and join an older brace of dogs when I run them from the atv. She will run as hard as she can for as long as you will let her. I end up picking her up early through the run as it just doesn't seem normal for a small pup to run non-stop as hard as she does for as long as she does.
I plan on her being my first DC .
Thanks,
Timmy Suggs

Re: IT'S BEEN A GOOD WEEKEND
Everyone, thanks for all of the replys to my post. My good fortune lasted through this past weekend. Diamond earned her 6th MH leg and earned her MH title on Saturday morning. In my opinion, she ran her most impressive brace yet. She was slinging dirt with every turn but obeyed the rules and my whistle perfectly. I was really pleased with her.
I called Steve Ries (Top Gun Kennels) and left him a message on the good news. I told him I thought the Native dog food was what made the difference. (I'm sure he got a kick out of that as he sells for Native.)
My other female, Dixie, picked up her 4th and 5th MH legs as well making it a really good weekend.
However, even though my grown dogs had the honor of the qualifying runs, they couldn't compare to the attention my pup, Snips Queen Bee, drew in. She is an attention magnet. She definately should never have any socialization issues .
To top it all off, I was in the company of people I have met through the hunt tests and bird dog world in general that I feel sure will be lifelong friends of mine.
Thanks All,
Timmy Suggs

Brenda, thanks.
It is exciting to me with it being the first title ever earned.
I look forward to venturing into the walking field trials also.
Thanks
