Funny you should say this, on Saturday my brace mate did just that! Refused the back, pointed the bird, when the handler came up he broke and took the bird out. I took the interference and was able to call her back and moved on while he spent a good long while getting his dog off that bird which flew into an overgrown pond. I finished up 4/3 (730 points), missed a bird due to gunner error, the bird flushed up and around me where I thought the judge was. I was going to call safety but when I got turned around the judge was not there, and by the time I took a shot the bird was well out of range. I did get 3rd place however.kninebirddog wrote:That is a super start...Nothing to be a shamed of there at all...next thing is start training for the train wrecks
like when dogs won't back and rip your bird out and your dog will stand there and come off and go hunt while your bracemate is leaving you the field to work...Make it fun and slowly work it...
