Got a good start.....

Post by jimbo&rooster » Thu Mar 31, 2011 8:00 am

I once had a buddy in college that said he just wanted to try Heroine once....... Well this weekend I did, and i cant look back. I entered my 17mo old GSP in his first HT this past weekend, and he got 2 passes towards his JH. On saturday he looked a little rough with only one find right at the wire but he got decent scores and passed. On Sunday, he looked liek a million bucks and made three finds with beautiful points including one that he held for 1-2mins while his fat handler (me :D ) wandered over.
By the time I got back to the truck I was afraid that my head would explode from the compliments I recieved from the judges and the crowd. not bad for a pup out of an oops litter that im afraid might be a little slow. haha.
Now im just itching to find another HT and get some birds and steady my boy up.

careful, soon you'll want to "try" field trialing and that too will become an addction. congrats on the two passes.

Well My plan is to get an FT bred pup within the next year. I just have a couple of pics of ol goofy wearing his ribbons, Since my wife went along on saturday I believe she is gona make it to as many as she can and she will be the photographer. I had a great time and met some great people. Much better experience than competing with hounds.....

Jim, I must warn you, the addiction only gets worse!

Congratulations, I believe you will find most of the people and judges exceptional.

CONGRATS! Before you start trying the "hard stuff", may I recommend checking your bank account and whether you have room for horses in the back yard and a trailer and pick up in the driveway!
