I started dragging John aroudn to field trials about 4 months after we started dating, and threw him on wrangler horses without any lessons. After 6 months of that, he bought his own horse, and shortly thereafter started scouting for me.

Last season he started running Blaze (DC Britt Haven's Blaze of Glory), and I started to learn how to scout. This weekend he took his first placement with Blaze....a 3rd in the Amateur All Age stake at North Jersey Brittany Club's trial yesterday. Blaze had 2 really nice runs this weekend (Saturday he ran just a little too much for the gun dog stake), and 2 clean pieces of birdwork both days, in winds up to 35 MPH. They really are working as a team out there. It's great to see!!!

Very nice!!! Teamwork is great... I took my wife out grouse hunting for the first time this year and she loved watching the dog work... The more the merrier!.. How did he do when you introduced him to the e-collar the first time?..

Good job! I'm starting to get my wife in this stuff now. Figure if the trials dont have an open limited then the open gun dog is fair game. Wife handling for experience only . Then the plan would be to get her own dog.
