1 POINT TO GO!
went with brad27 to a Vizsla club trial this weekend and sent my dog with her trainer. Waited all day for her trainer to let me know how my dog did in open All Age. 8:00pm passed and hadn't heard from him so I figured he would tell me how she lost the stake as it was a Friday and I would be out early saturday. Got the call and he told me the story of how she ran and mentioned he was looking at a blue ribbon...... So the nervous stomach started to churn and couldn't sleep.
Met brad the next day and drove out to the grounds and scouted for his dog in Derby.
Sunday rolls around and after a long sleepless night I paced and talked with a friend or two and confirmed ky scout would be there for my first run at handling this year. I was braced with a fast dog and had brad hold on to Kimber until the dog was a little to the front. He released her with her back feet on the ground and the race was on! Had her going through the grease woods at 150 yards heading to the hill at 11 oclock. 1-2 minutes later she showed on the hill at about 350-400 yards and ran straight to the top lacing the hill and onto her first find. Head and tail high the bird was shot and retrieved. I collared her and released her on my own. I released her and she started to work the ridgeline towards her bracemate and we found her one minute later on point. I blanked the bird and collared her. With everything in order I walked her over the ridge and cast her toward her bracemate and the other handler who were now 500 yards to the front . Kimber worked the bowl and shot up the other side passing the other handler and judge and made her way to the front. When she topped out on the ridgeline I blew my wistle as she cleared it and she came back up and looked at me before she moved back over. As I approached the top my scout yelled "dog standing". I looked to 2oclock and she had made the turn back and was standing on the top of the next ridge standing with her head and tail high. As I approached sheooked like a million bucks.

Re: 1 POINT TO GO!
Continued....
I worked the bird that was about 40yards out and collared her with everything in order. I released her and she ran through a bowl and was showing at about 200 yards when she went into a draw and didn't come out. My scout again called point and Her bracemate started working the same area and was circling where I though my dog was standing (and was). As we approached the second dog was in front and mine was behind her still standing. Judges said divided find and both dogs made it out with all in order. Had another find about 2 minutes later in another draw with head and tail high. Blanked the bird and watered her down really good. I was smiling and out of blanks! She finished strong and looked good. I'm still smiling with two blue ribbons for majors this weekend and writing as brads driving...

Re: 1 POINT TO GO!
I wish you hadn't lent out the horse I was going to ride. I wanted to watch that brace.
When you finish her AFC in two weeks you owe me a beer. Congrats again.

Re: 1 POINT TO GO!
My cheeks blew up with my head... Tmrow going to have to go back to conditioning and training.. after a well deserved bath and in n out for Kimber (im on a diet).
I left out that I gave her trainer/handler a huge man hug.. called my scout 2 times to thank him couldn't have asked for a better job.
Brad I'm nog expecting what you are but if she does I will buy you two beers... Sorry about the horse thing, but you saw her more than me last year...
