2011-2012 NW Region Hi Point

Post by hustonmc » Sun May 06, 2012 11:18 pm

Well.................................For the first time in 33 years of running NSTRA in the North West, a Pointer has brought home the bragging rights to be called the number one dog of the year!!!!! Went into this weekend tied with another dog and only 3 points ahead of two more. Had a nice 4 bird run on Saturday to pick up 2 more points and the Setter had 2 thirds to keep the spread to only 3. After tossing and turning all night I knew with the first brace in the morning I had an oppurtunity to take the wind out of their sails. Cage did just that with an AWESOME run that held for 1st the whole day. It stayed interesting with the dog just behind me sitting in 2nd most of the day and the other dog sitting in first in the other field. Those scores each got bumped down a notch and with my first firmly locked down, took it by 4 points. Cage scored 18 points in 5 weekends, and just turned 3yrs old 3 days ago. As he sleeps here with his head in my lap I couldn't be prouder of the little dude!!!!

18 points in 5 weeks was impressive enough for me. Great job.
