1st leg of JH test

Post by Greek » Mon Sep 24, 2012 7:29 am

This was my first hunt test and I really enjoyed it! GSPCI did a great job running the event. A very friendly bunch! Falko was in rare form at first harassing the horses and just about got kicked, however he got over them quickly and ran hard and really did great considering I have a handicap on finding the brids he points...lol He pointed a few times I looked and looked. I bend over to tap on the head to release him and sure enough then I see the bird!! So I think Falko will have to start training me. The judge even mentioned " You should always trust your dog" then smiled. I think he seen the bird from his horse. My 15 yr old son even knew from watching and mentioned he is gonna handle him next time cause apparently my eye site is going bad..lol Day 1 was crazy 30-40 MPH winds whipping around. Day 2 much better! I plan on hitting one more before hunting season in Oct by the local Brittany Club. I hope to have just as much fun!

Where was the HT? Glenn vally?

Jim
A limit on the strap is nice, but the kill has nothing to do with tradition.
