10 Month GSP hunting success!

Post by Bberry20 » Tue Jan 08, 2013 1:04 pm

Well as the title says, with the close of our hunting season my 10 month GSP pup had a great year. We harvested 100 roosters on the season. Not to bad for his first season out. We did go out a lot and the improvement he made each and every time out was truly fun to watch! Hope everyone had a good of a season as we did.

Wow that is impressive. I thought there was a limit of 3 a day per hunter!

If you didn't get out that much that's pretty impressive even if you were hunting each time with a bunch of guys.

i get out 4-5 days a week. And usually on the weekends we have 4-5 guys. but 100 birds/45 days in the field is only 2.25 birds a day out. We have been pretty lucky. Got some really nice private land to hunt which is a big plus.

very doable! I ran my 9 Month old 35 days this wild bird season and our numbers are similar in total birds including huns, chuckars and quail well over 100. It does help that i do not compete for land to hunt on. We are now ready to turn our focus to trials and Hunt test. It has been great I have two weekends left and i will add some more to it. Sounds like you had a great year! Nothing better than lots of wild birds. I believe it can put dogs ahead of there time. Best of luck to come!

That is awsome! I was running two 9 month old litter mates the begining of last year. Its amazing to see them get better and better with every hunt!

I can't wait to see Hattie prove herself.
Peace, it's what's for dinner!
