My long wait is over. After spending years as a bird boy in my youth for every trainer and field trial I could find, parents that wouldn't let me have a dog, school, getting married, buying a house, and having 4 kids I felt that the kids were old enough and I now had enough time to devote to a gun dog. Here is Si. My 10 week old Brittany. I have been very surprised at his desire to please and how quickly he is learning. That being said he is still hyper with 4 kids in the house! This is gonna be a BLAST!

Look into his eyes...he looks like a "thinker". I own a "thinker" too. Thinkers are trouble...but fun.

You got any Pheasant in the corn field back there?

Unfortunately the wild pheasant is pretty much a thing of the past here in Wisconsin. He will mostly hunt ruffed grouse with the occasional farm pheasant hunt. So far he has exceeded all my expectations. He has been a quick learner and very willing to please. Thanks for all the nice comments! As fun as this is, I could easily see another one in the future.

Four kids....four dogs? I'm just sayin'. Each child should be able to have the joy of their own dog, right?

I have a 9 week old Brit that is as headstrong as it gets. When the treats come out, she is very eager to please. Otherwise she is independent and once the initial kisses are out of the way, she is off doing her own thing. Walking in the field she does well to naturally stay within 50 feet or so. I assume that will change over time as her confidence grows.

Great looking pup! He reminds me of Jake, the dog that I grew up with! I hope he is every bit the dog for you and your kids that Jake was for my dad and me.

Update.... He is now 6 months old. Opening day, 20 minutes into the first field and we were done!
