2 champs named 1 open major won

Post by vols fan » Mon Oct 07, 2013 6:44 pm

This weekend was a good one for three dogs that I bred. Max won a nstra trial and 2nd in the other to receive his Ch.
Rick Hopkins Benny won a open major and a 3rd in another open gun dog stake. My Dougie won the ALGD to finish up his am champion so now he is AFC/FC Rip - N - Razors Sundance Kid SH. These dogs are out of my Maggie and sired by Fritz and Logan out of Walnuthills Kennels. Maggie has no titles but if she did it would be DGBD. That's "bleep" good bird dog.I have killed 6 sp of wild birds over her and her adaptability on all birds is just unreal. My Alpha shows she is a 100yd dog in the U P , 250 yd dog in south Ga and a 1200+ yd dog in South Dakota. She is just special. Tony

I was lucky enough to hunt over Maggie in South Dakota last year, she is one heck of a dog.

Here are a couple of photos of the dogs.

Congrats Tony! It was an enjoyable brace...... at least to the water barrel. Haha.

A limit on the strap is nice, but the kill has nothing to do with tradition.

Here are a couple more photos. Tony has the dogs in MI grouse hunting this week.

Belle is a litter mate to Dougie.

Couple more of Maggie, getting up in years and still getting it done on wild birds!

Thanks everyone. Just getting in from Michigan and had a great trip.Birds were not in their usual spots as it was very dry. Found that hawthorns and water were the key as we found many birds holed up in these spots.
Another small brag, I am co owner on a Dougie x Sammie pup( Fred Rice Sundance line) She passed na test a few weeks back but more importantly she has found a lot of grouse and woodcock this week . Busted her first grouse but has been flawless ever since.Just shows what good breeding does , Walnuthills x Sundance., every pup that has been tested in na has passed out of this litter. Tony
