Congradulations to Sonny Hawkins on his recent completetion of Amateur Field Championship on Son Starrs slick. It is my understanding that Slick is the only Amateur Field Champion in NSTRA.

Weiss, I noticed in you signature it says Palm Glades and Ohi Shameless. I have a dog that is very close breed to DC Palm Glades Sweet Sage and I have a dog out of Ohi Shamless. Kind of ironic.

Been gone for awhile, but I wanted to Congratulate you Sonny on having the 1st Amateur Ch! Way to go for sure....It is showing as a good way to get some new trialers pumped up and into competition without running the 10xCh's. NSTRA needed something to lead new dogs and handlers into the venue so they can learn along with their dogs.

BRENDA, Thanks for the congrats on Sonny and Slick, But most of all a BIG THANKS for your view about open-amt trials. Words you spoke, came from years of trialing. I think open-amt trialing is the future of NSTRA. Sonny

I still don't get the "open-amateur" designation?? I'm asking just purely out of curiousity.

I will answer that question for you. If you are a member of NSTRA you should receive the mag, which has open-amt rules. If you are not a member, maybe you should get involved and join NSTRA. They will be glad to answer any question you may have. Join today at www.nstra.org. your field trial friend Sonny PS. NSTRA is the closest trialing event to real bird hunting as you can get.
