GSPC of MN trial brag

Post by sweetsong » Mon Apr 16, 2007 7:22 pm

I had a wonderful time at the GSPC of MN walking trial this passed weekend. Fantastic weather and best of all my GSP Greta had a great run in the open derby with good range and 3 finds and we pulled out a 2nd place. I was very impressed with how well she held her point. After the event I was smiling ear to ear. This was my 1st trial and my 1st field event (hunt test) in about 8 years, it was nice to get back in the game and to have a dog that makes me look like i know what I'm doing.

Also Chris did a wonderful job putting on the event!!! thanks!!!

Terry

Glad it went so well, you seemed pretty pleased and that's the best part.

I hope we start seeing you around at these again soon....I have a hunch we might.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

Ezzy,

Sometimes I my wife thinks the same thing, She spends more time with
Greta than me! She picked her out. You know how that works, I'm looking for this bold pup and she comes up with "but this one looks sooo cute.

How did the Lake Superior Pointing Dog trial go? I was planning on running Greta in the derby but she came into season a week prior.

Besides the wind blowing like the "bleep" all weekend and me just about taking a swim in the creek while judging on Saturday it went well.

The club ran a very nice event. Vastly different type of grounds than Kelly Farms. Even in a walking trial a dog must have some power at times to show well.

The derby was a small stake but some very nice dogs including a couple pointers and a gordon setter. The derby won by a pointer named Buck.

The Open Gun Dog was won by Su Oertel from Iowa with her Schammy GSP.

The Amateur Gun Dog was won by Randy Herman with his English Setter "Mac"

The Open Puppy was won by Ken Lohr with his pointer "Griz". This should be a fun dog to watch matrue over the next few years.

The GSPC's own Rona Everson and her dog "Leader" took second in both the OGD and AGD.
