2nd in Amature Derby

Post by Maverick » Mon May 14, 2007 9:08 am

I made it down to the Vizsla trial in PA this past weekend.
I got to meet a couple of board members and run my dog as well.
Pear even had a good ole Canadian beer, the good stuff!!!

Brian Riggle who trains and handles Maverick for me in US entered us in this trial and I came down to run amature and bring Maverick home for a bit before heading back to summer camp training and the fall trial season.

I made it to the grounds just in time to get my blank pistol say hi to Brian grab Maverick and head to the line. I was a walking trial and we were braced with a Vizsla this brace. Maverick was a little slow off the line but afterwards he picked it up and found his first bird which his bracement stole point on. We blanked the bird and moved on and had 3 more good solid finds and a great run.
I missed the gsp's run that beat us but I am sure he did a heck of a job as Mav put together a great run and we were happy to get ou second.

Although we did not place in the open, I did see some great dogs run out there. I rode every brace of the open Derby and the GSP's put some solid dogs on the ground that ran some real nice races that I enjoyed watching!
I thought we had a chance at the yellow or white but the judges did not agree with me.. :D

See you all in the fall,

Mav.....
We give dogs time we can spare, space we can spare and love we can spare.
And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made.

Hey Mav, Were those Vizslas or white shorthairs somebody let out in the rain and they rusted?? :P Great to meet you Mav, good to see Justin again, as well as meet the better half.

Lots of placements in the GSP camp, Nikki took a third in the Am GD, on Sunday. I think we went 1 white 3 yellows and 1 red in our truck. and the truck with us went 3 blues a red and a white.... So we did ok.

Once again good see'n you guys, just not enough hours in the day to get it all done. Canadian beer is great stuff just not enought time to enjoy it. Oh and yes we really did get 5 horses with tack and 4 GSP's in a 3 horse slant... Don't think that won't draw a crowd to watch at the end of the day   "pear"

CONGRATS MAVERICK!!!

Bruce you'd be surprised how we can get 5 horses in a 10 ft. box. I can see how pear does it he probably has the dividers out and might even head and tail the horses. The dogs they can go in the living/tack quarters and in the truck

Robbi

PS~We too have done our fair share of pushing and shoving em in, but their safety is always our main concern as we need and us them a whole heck of a lot!!!

It was great seeing Pear again and meeting Maverick! Congrats to all! I was even braced with Pear on Sunday! Bad brace for both of us. Anyhow, I can verify that they had 5 horses in that trailer with the 4 dogs. I had to rub my eyes, shake my head and count twice - but they did it!

Those guys wouldn't do anything to endanger the animals or themselves.

I particularly liked spending time and meeting Owen. He's a fun little bugger!

I got a 3rd in OLGD on Saturday. I really blew it on Sunday, but those are the breaks.

Hope to see you all around some time soon!
